India’s MARK at the Shooting World Cup.

Let’s get straight to the Point. On February 23rd, Apurvi Chandela hit bullseye and created history by winning India’s first gold medal at the ISSF World cup 2019. The 26-year old shooter shot 252.9 points in the final, breaking the previous world record and winning the gold in women’s 10-metre air rifle. She broke Zhao’s world record who had to settle for the silver being just 1.1 points away from victory.

Prior to this Apurvi has won a bronze in the world cup. In the last one year she had reached the final of four major tournaments, however she missed the titles. Other Indians in the tournament, Elavenil Valarvian and Anjum Moudgil finished 30th and 12th respectively.
