Scientists have always been baffled about finding the exact distance between the earth and the moon. Luckily Indian scientists are making progress towards this goal of accurately estimating the definite distance between the Earth its satellite.
Chandrayaan-2 is set to launch in april. This is India’s second lunar expedition after the Chandrayaan 1 in 2008 and is way more complex than what it was 10 years ago.It will carry NASA’S laser instruments. The laser retro reflector assortments will help the scientists to take accurate measurements of the distance between the Earth and the moon.
Chandrayaan-2 costs around Rs. 800 crore! The aim of this expedition is to carry out successful experiments on the moon. We will also place a lunarrover on the south pole of the moon in order to learn more and convey important information.
Do you think that mission will lead us to uncover mysteries about our natural satellite? Or should we focus on improving our planet instead of these expeditions? Tell us in the comments and subscribe to Owlett.in for more!
