The Battle Against Cyberbullying

The Indian Government will now be linking Aadhar cards directly to our social media accounts. This move is being implemented for only one reason- To prevent the spread of ‘trolls’ or cyberbullying. Cyberbullying has been an issue that has reached new heights of extremity in the past few years, with hate and inappropriate messages being anonymously posted through fake accounts.

Luckily, the government will now be able to directly link any misconduct or misbehavior to the person responsible, making it a punishable and recordable offence. According to Section 69A, any company that does not obey to these laws will have their top exectuives face consequences of seven years worth of jail.

Do you think this is a good move but the government? Or is cyberbullying not a big enough crime? Comment down below…
