Gagandeep Kang has become the first female scientist from India to be selected to Fellow of Royal Society(FRS), London in its 358 year history. FRS is an award granted to scientists by Royal Society of London for making substantial contributions to mathematics, engineering, science and medicine.
Gagandeep Kang is known for her work in prevention of infections in children in India through her research, setting up of surveillance networks for rotavirus and typhoid and establishing laboratories for clinical trials. This indeed is a proud day for India as a hole.
