India’s First voter, Shyam Saran Negi from Himachal Pradesh who has turned 102, was India’s first voter as an independent country. During his voting, the current PM, Narendra Modi was barely a year old, and the BJP had 29 more years to exist. Rajiv Gandhi was just 5-6 years of age, and Indira Gandhi was still a young bride.

He has voted in every election that has been held in India from Independence. He wishes to inspire the youth to take a stance and vote for the country as well.
Negi claims this may be his last election.
