After months of reports surrounding Chinese tech giant, Huawei, regarding their recently developed 5G technology, Huawei has decided to sign a ‘no-spy’ agreement with the British government according to a statement by its Chairman, Liang Hua.
This move comes after the longstanding suspicion that China can use gadgets made by its telecom companies for government surveillance.
Although China has officially denied the claim, Huawei products have been banned in Australia and New Zealand and British officials say that they could allow Huawei’s 5G services in the UK in limited capacity based on their cooperation to this deal. America has also restricted its federal agencies from using Huawei products and has pressured its allies to shun this company.
