Modi Awarded Maldives Highest Honour

President of Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih honoured PM Narendra Modi with the ‘Order of the rule of Izzudeeno, which is Maldives highest honour for a foreign dignitary. He conferred the award on Saturday evening {june 8, 2019} at the Maldives President’s office as a part of PM Modi’s visit to the Maldives. This is his first international visit since he began his second term. The award was given in recognition to his many amicable and strong initiatives taken to strengthen the ties between the two countries.

The main focus of the visit includes a focus on the Indian Ocean region, an address to the parliament, inauguration of radar(coastal radar system and military training centre) and also of the cricket stadium. He will also provide ferry service from Kochi amongst others.
