Doctors Strike

Recently, three junior doctors at the NRS Medical College in India were severely injured after a dispute with a family whose relative had died. After this thousands of doctors began to demand better security but this movement was confined to the state of Bengal, where this attack took place. Nearly 30,000 doctors were on a strike yesterday. After political remarks against the movement, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) said this attack was “barbaric” and called for a nationwide protest. This strike is going to happen on Monday, 17th June 2019 with the withdrawal of non-essential services in all health care institutions. Nearly 30,000 doctors were on a strike yesterday.

This move will paralyse hundreds of government-run hospitals and clinics around India. Doctors held posters saying “Don’t kill your life savers” and “we want justice”. Do you think doctors should have security? Tell us by commenting below…
