The government is dispatching 250 civil servants to the driest regions of India as India struggles to provide clean drinking water to its large population. The western and southern states have got especially affected with an elongated summer. This is has been Indias driest monsoon in the last 5 years due to the delay in June rains. The government is now revving up efforts on conservation and has rightly said that each citizen needs to play a role in this.
