World Bank Gets A New MD!

The world Bank is a global financial institution that provides loans and grants to developing countries. Anshula Kant, an Indian National, has been appointed as the Managing Director(MD) and Chief Financial Officer(CFO) of the World Bank, It’s President Malpass announced. She currently is the Managing Director(MD) of the State Bank of India(SBI) and has earlier been it’s Chief Financial Officer(CFO). As CFO of SBI she managed $38 billion in revenue and over $500 billion in assets. She has done honours in economics from Lady Sriram College post-graduate graduate in Economics from Delhi School of Economics.

She will be the first woman CFO of the bank. At this role at the World Bank she will be responsible for financial and risk management. David Malpass, Group President of world Bank said about her appointment, “Anshula brings more than 35 years of expertise in finance, banking and innovative use of technology through her role as CFO of State Bank of India.”
