Justice Awaited

Kulbhushan Jadhav, an Indian citizen has been alleged by Pakistan to be an Indian spy working for RAW(Research Analysis Wing). The Indian side, however, says he is just an ordinary businessman who was kidnapped when he was in Iran. While he was once a part of the navy, he had taken premature retirement. He was arrested by Pakistan in 2016 and put on death row. India had taken this up with the ICJ (International Court of justice). Now, the ICJ has suspended his death row till Pakistan can carry out an effective review of the decision and has also provided him consular access. (Meaning India can have contact with him)

India has said that it was clear when deputy high commissioner, Gaurav Ahluwalia met Kulbhushan Jadhav, an atmosphere of coercion and intimidation has been created and that Pakistan has not lived up to what ICJ had demanded. Indian foreign ministry has said that Kulbhushan Jadhav, who has been provided consular access after the ruling of the International court of justice, seemed under immense pressure to paint a false narrative. This is the first time India could reach out to him, after his arrest in 2016.

What do you think? Will he be released? Tell us in the comments below…
